Women's Ministry

Women's Ministry exists in unison with other ministries at Cornerstone to further enable women to experience the gospel in all its fullness by training and equipping each woman to be continually growing into the likeness of Christ. The focus of this gospel edification is growth in her knowledge and practice of biblical womanhood.* The context of this ministry is the community of believers, specifically the women in the body of Christ at Cornerstone.

The paradigm below reflects support of a woman's growth in every relationship: her relationship with God, her relationship with her family, her relationship with the church family, and her relationship with others.

  1. Women's Bible StudyStudying God’s Word together to promote our transformation into the likeness of Christ.
  2. Women's Discipleship MinistryPartnerships in which women meet to implement elements of discipleship and mutual ministry in a one-anothering context. (Includes training of disciples in small groups for prayer and accountability.)
  3. Women's Ministry Events: Church-wide Women’s Ministry Events to foster community within the body at Cornerstone. This includes special times for Biblical instruction, encouragement, friendship, refreshment and outreach. Women's Ministry Events vary from year to year. We typically alternate bi-annually between a Women's Tea or Women's Retreat, and past events have include occassional conferences.

*Foundations of Biblical Womanhood: Titus 2: 3-5 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, (4) so that they may encourage (Greek sophronizo: teach, train, disciple, admonish, exhort earnestly) the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, (5) to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
